Round 6 Nth Melbourne Vs Swans

We had a nice lunch at my partner’s parent’s house when this game was on. Things weren’t looking too good for the Swans, with them being behind every time I looked at the T V. We listened to the final quarter on the way home and it was with some disbelief that the game ended in a draw!!

The end of the game would have been very exciting to see, with the result not becoming clear until close to the end of the game

Kangaroos 9.10.64
Swans 8.16.64

Round 5 Geelong Vs Swans

Sadly I didn’t get to see this game on tv. I listened to it on the radio though and was shocked at the blatant bias towards Geelong. They could do no wrong and nothing was more exciting that Geelong scoring a goal. Geelong took control of the game in the first quarter and the game was in danger of being a one sided affair.

The Swans can never be written off and fought back in the 2nd quarter with only 1 or 2 goal in it at the major break. The third quarter was very tight with only 2 or 3 goals scored. It would have been a very exciting game to watch that is until…

The 4th quarter. I missed the 4th quarter and don’t know what happened to the Swans but Geelong ran away with the game again.

This was their first game without Barry Hall and I think until the last quarter they certainly did themselves proud!

Final score Geelong 16. 18.117
Swans 10. 12. 72

Barry at the tribunal and some good news

Congratulations to Kieran Jack who got a nomination for the Rising Star Award after Round 4. He has been one of the stars of the Swans team in 2008 and plays like he’s been in the team for a while. He is exciting to watch and is sure to do great things for the swans, if they don’t trade him like they’ve traded other exciting players.

Barry Hall faced the tribunal and was suspended for 7 rounds. He will be out for 4 -6 weeks anyway with his broken wrist. It will be interesting to see how the Swans cope without their star player.
